Introducing Target's new plus size label...Belle Curve [review and giveaway]

Brought to you by Target Australia

Curvy women across Australia have been eagerly awaiting the launch of Target's new plus size collection. Breathe a sigh of relief ladies...Belle Curve does not disappoint! I recently attended the launch of Belle Curve; an opportunity for plus size fashion bloggers to view and try on the new collections in person before the pieces hit the stores, and to meet Fiona Falkner, Target's new Belle Curve ambassador.
Fiona talked us through each of the new pieces...sharing her favourites, the inspiration behind the new range, as well as a few of her styling tips. Fiona is seen here wearing the new "Lolita" dress, which I'm sure you'd agree, looks absolutely stunning on her. The gold metal detail around the hem of the sleeves, and at the ends of the belt, are just the perfect amount of embellishment. This dress looks fab with or without the belt tied at the waist...and is so versatile, you could be wear it over your swimmers teamed with a pair of dressy sandals, or with a pair of killer heels and statement jewellery at a cocktail party.
It was so overwhelming and exciting to know that every piece in the new Belle Curve collection had been designed for the stylish plus size woman in mind...I didn't even know where to start. I browsed the racks, feeling the fabrics, wondering what to try on first. Mrs Woog came to my rescue and picked out my first outfit...an oversized metallic lurex top, teamed with a black maxi skirt...worn off the shoulder for a little sexiness.
This black maxi skirt is ultra comfortable! I could easily wear it all day long. The fabric is soft, and the elasticised waist didn't cut in at all. I'm wearing a size 26, which tapered in nicely at the ankle. The metallic top is something I wouldn't normally select for myself, but I'm glad I tried it on! This top is designed to be worn oversized. In this photo I'm wearing a size 22, however I ended up selecting a size 20 for my own wardrobe. I love how it looks off the shoulder, and I would wear it with a blank tank top with wide straps. All accessories, clutch, and heels are also available from Target.
I also tried on this black oversized top with metallic stud detail. I've teamed it with the same black maxi skirt (above). I love the mixed metals on this top! A statement gold necklace and cluster of metal bangles compliment this look (also available from Target). As with the silver top above, I have had to go down a few sizes. I'm pictured wearing a size 20, however I probably could have selected an 18. The size selection here all depends on how you prefer to wear your clothing. A taller woman (I'm only 5'3") would definitely be able to carry off the oversized look.

Target's Belle Curve range is right on trend, available in sizes 16 to 26, and ranges in price from $49 to $79 (very affordable!). This first collection features great staples and stand out pieces in dazzling blue (Pantone's colour for Spring 2014), black, and this gorgeous kaleidoscope fabric. My favourite piece from Belle Curve is the sequinned bolero...a must for every woman's wardrobe!
