Have you Gok the look? A fresh take on work wear from Target

Gok Wan is in town and helping Target customers select their wardrobe must-haves and key fashion pieces! I've been watching Aunty Gok style women of all shapes and sizes on television for years, and now he's representing one of my favourite brands...I couldn't be more excited!! Gok's first outing as Target's “style and quality ambassador” focuses on fresh and classy ways to dress for the workplace.

You may have seen these looks on one of Target's print or televised advertisements. Black and white is always a classic...and simply by adding a pop of neon, or electric blue, it lifts this colour combination into the 21st century.

So, how can a plus size woman interpret these looks? Firstly, did you know that Target's standard range now extends to a size 20? If you fit into this demographic, go right ahead and shop the looks above. If not, here's a few tips from me...

First...stick to the monochromatic theme. Moda for Target has quite a number of black and white tops to choose from. Add a classic black skirt, or pants...which ever suits your figure more. Then, add a serious pop of colour with some lime accessories.

Two...layer a light weight Moda waterfall cardigan over the top. This is a great transitional piece for between seasons. Most offices are air conditioned, and this cardigan isn't so thick that you'll over heat.

Three...pop on a scarf! Target's black and white scarf with lime pom pom trim is just fab. If you like this one, you may need to scour the stores...it's incredibly popular...and with good reason.

 

TIP: Target's necklaces fit my neck, however you may want to try them on in store. If there's a necklace you love that doesn't quite fit...just add an extender!

Four...select practical footwear that is office appropriate. A wedge heel is a great choice for the plus size woman as it will provide you with a little more support.

Classic black patent court shoes with a wedge heel are perfect for running around the office...and the sheen will add a little more drama to your outfit!

Gok's choices for Target are proving to be a hit with a lot of women, and I'm certainly one of them! Kudos Target for bringing in a style expert, and inspiring women to update their look.
