Relive the magic of E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial this long weekend...and a giveaway! (closed)

Relive a film that spans generations! E.T. returns to the big screen for the October long weekend! To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of E.T., cinemas around Australia will screen the newly restored version of the film which captured hearts around the world.  Australians will get a rare chance to see on of the world's most loved movies the way it was always meant to be seen when Event Cinemas, Greater Union and Birch Carroll & Coyle host exclusive sessions of the painstakingly restored E.T.

For those not in the know (or living on this planet), E.T. is the story of a little lost alien who is found by 10 year old Elliot. Soon the two begin to communicate, and they become firm friends.  Elliot must work with E.T. to try to find a way for him to get back home...knowing that by doing so, he'll lose his new best friend.

I first saw E.T. as an 8 year old girl at the local cinema with my sister and some other kids from the neighbourhood. It was such a magical film...one that touched my heart, made me cry, and filled me with joy all at once. Fast forward nearly 30 years later and my own children love this film just as much!  I can't wait to see it on the big screen again, and experience the magic with Seth and Eme.
Screenings will be held at Event Cinemas, Greater Union and Birch Carroll & Coyle cinemas over the October long weekend with tickets just $9 each*:
  • Saturday, 29 September 2012 at 1pm
  • Sunday, 30 September 2012 at 1pm

Tickets are now on sale online or on mobile at eventcinemas.com.au or buy at box offices.
*Additional booking fees apply for online ticket purchases.
