It appears that my mojo is finally starting to come back!! Feels so good to be creative again. I have to thank WOW for the inspiration...love playing with their chipboard pieces, and there's so many to choose from. I have my first layout appearing on the WOW blog inspiration post this week, and here 'tis...
The Portrait Collection by Crate Paper is one my all time favourites, and I have several sheets of the Bouquet paper in my stash. I love that wallpaper style floral pattern, and the colours are gorgeous...and it just happened to match our photo perfectly. To compliment the pattern, I have used WOW's vine set chipboard.
When adding chipboard to your layouts, you don't need to go overboard with the number of pieces you use, or how they are treated. Chipboard should compliment your overall design, not overpower it. I began by coating the chipboard vines with a green marker that matched the patterned paper. I then scored a "vein" line through the centre of each leaf using a craft knife, and drew on vein lines with a deeper green marker to add more interest. To finish, the vines were coated in a thin glaze. I have used a few stickers, brads and resin flowers to compliment the chipboard, and to add more dimension.

It's not often that we capture all four of us in a photograph! Usually it's me behind the lens. If someone ever asks you if you'd like them to take a photo for you, go for it! I'm so glad I relinquished control of my camera to Andrew's cousin at Christmastime. How often do you have a family photo taken? If it's been a while...go find someone to snap a few pictures for you!!
