Years ago, my hubby and I decided that we'd only throw a big birthday party for our children every second year. Sounds mean, doesn't it. On the off year, we take the kids somewhere special for their birthday as a family. For Seth's birthday last year, we went to Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, and the National Motor Racing Museum in Bathurst. We had a fabulous weekend away and it made his birthday extra special.
Regardless of what we do, I always make an extra special cake as per the kids requests. Last year it was Mario. Prior to that, I've made Seth bowling pins, an alien, a penguin, a tiger, dump truck and a whale.
On the weekend, Seth and I sat down to start planning. There was talk of having a Pokemon or Spongebob party, but the winner was a Scooby Doo theme! ZOINKS!! Talk about fun. Seth loves watching Scooby Doo (who doesn't?). We started googling away to get some ideas...who knew there was so much Scooby Doo product on the market!! I just know he's going to have a blast and so are his friends. Time to start making invitations and planning food and decorations and games...we're going to have a Scooby Doo mystery to solve! Can't wait. I think I might be more excited than the kids. lol.
Not to be left out...Eme has decided we need to plan her party too...which isn't until the end of September. Patience little grasshopper, patience. Mummy can only plan one party at a time. lol.
Cheers, Lis.
