Scrapware | Butterflies

This week on the Scrapware blog, the design team are showcasing projects using critters and monsters. I'm not scheduled to post this week, but thought I'd share this project that was published a few months ago in Scrapbook Creations. I was asked to create a Home Decor project for the Top Ten feature in Issue 82, and this is what I came up with.  I created a keepsake box for all of my daughter's treasures..think hairclips, bangles, and other pretty things. A balsa wood box from Riot Art & Craft was the perfect base.
Before covering, I removed the little gold lock so that I'd get a nice clean finish. The outside has been covered in Pebbles Inc "Twitterpated", and the edges inked in Umber.  The top of the box features Scrapware's 3D butterfly.  I have embossed the base of the butterfly, then painted it pink. I then cut up a Prima flourish and added it to the butterfly. Between the wings and base is one of Pebbles Inc's "stackers", which are transparent, coloured flowers...very cute. A doily trimmed in half forms the leaves, and the big yellow flower was found at a haberdashery store.
Scrapware product used: CH310 3D Butterfly (small)

...and btw...Eme loves it, so mission accomplished.

Check out the Scrapware blog to see what the rest of the dt have been creating.

Cheers, Lis.
