back to regular blogging...

So, I did a heap of layouts at the Scrapbook HQ retreat, and I've been pacing myself with uploading them...here's a few more. I took a bunch of old photos of Seth with me so that I could get caught up a bit, and a heap of product. There was no pre-planning here...just whatever took my fancy (mostly my Scarlet Lime kits with a few bits and bobs from my stash).

I had always wanted to cuddle a koala, and finally got a chance at Dreamworld! Little Robbie was so cute and cuddly, but boy did he stink! I smelt like a koala for the rest of the day!! Seth was 13 months old here.Seth was 20 months old in this one. The boys had taken me to Diggies for a birthday brunch and after, Andrew decided to take Seth down to the shoreline to feel the water...well, the first wave that came along bowled him over! Too funny.

This one is one of those just get it done layouts...nothing fancy, but I like it and the photos are worth saving. Look at that gorgeous red, curly hair! Seth had only just turned 2 in these pics. btw - I was very impressed with myself with this one though because I used the last Scenic Route arrow on the sheet - its taken me a while, but they're all gone! lol.

Last, but not least, this photo was taken a month before Eme was born, so Seth would be about 2yrs 4mths old. He used to love sleeping on our bed, but now he's a big boy in his own bed. He still loves a cuddle though. Another simple layout - I just love that Sassafras Lass paper and the Making Memories ribbon - they work so well together.

There are more layouts to come (lol), so I'll stop there. I just got the recent issue of Simple Scrapbooks, and I just love looking at the simple layouts. However if I try to emulate the style, I always feel like I've finished my layouts too soon. That's kind of how I feel about a couple of the ones above, but they're done and I'm not going back. I just love the lots of layers look and a bit of clutter, but I also love white space - its a fine balance. How do you go about finding your style? Do you stick to one type of style or try out different things?
