Scrapware | Shadow box and giveaway!

This month at the Storyboard Kits crop night, the girls wanted to create an off the page item for Mother's Day...and here's what I came up with.  I mentioned to Ange at Scrapware that I wanted to create a shadow box where the inside opening was 4x4"...perfect for a standard sized photo, with a bit trimmed off the sides.  Ange, being the awesome chipboard designer and cutter she is, resized the mini bracket shadow box that is currently available for sale (KT62), and sent them up to me! Love that woman.

The front of the shadow box measures 7"x7" from tip to tip.  The kit that I put together for the night included the Scrapware bracket shadow box, Scrapware mini foliage and eight 6"x6" papers from Crate Paper.  I only gave the girls instructions on how to construct the box, and the design on top was purely up to them.  As you can see, I've kept the front quite clean in design to let the patterns from Crate Paper's "Portrait" collection shine. The colours are gorgeous and I love the nanna prints...lovely roses and damasks...a bit like old wallpaper.
The Scrapware mini foliage has been spritzed in Mr Huey's "Lunch Tray" mist, and each of the leaves has been bent to add dimension.  A clustering of rolled roses on top finishes off the shadow box. Seriously, how fun are rolled roses to create?! I could add them to every project.

Now for the giveaway part...

Want to create a shadow box for yourself?  I have one pack left that I'm willing to share with one lucky blog reader.  The winner will receive:

  • Scrapware bracket shadow box kit
  • Scrapware mini foliage sheet
  • Eight sheets of Crate Paper "Portrait" collection 6"x6" papers
  • Step by step instructions
To enter, simply leave a comment on this post describing the photo you most want to showcase in a shadow box!  Want to increase your chances?  For another entry, help me spread the word about this giveaway by either blogging, tweeting etc, then leave me a link in a separate comment.

Entries close midnight, Sunday 15 May 2011.

Good luck! Lis.

I am not sure if people in the US are Qualified for this but I think it is beautiful. And the picture I would put in it is of my niece that I took of her in a pale pink dress no shoes and her long hair flowing down her face, and she is looking at something in her hand.
