Aussie Curves | Picnic

This week's challenge is picnic wear. What does one wear to a picnic? It would depend on the type of picnic of course...are you thinking family time, or perhaps an event with champagne and strawberries? Picnics speak to me of florals, pastels, gingham, flowing dresses...and Spring time.
As a teenager, florals were so on trend...and I'm thrilled to see feminine florals back this season. The minute I saw this dress in the City Chic window, I had to make it mine (thank goodness for lay by!). It's bold floral print and nautical stripe hem are so pretty, and perfect to wear at a fancy picnic by the riverside...or perhaps at the races.
As the weather is getting warmer, a pale yellow bolero jacket provides a little extra sun protection for my shoulders, covering up the thin dress straps.
There are so many colours you can pull from this fabric for your accessories. The yellow bolero and teal shoes give this outfit a day time look. Swap them out for a navy blazer and heels to make it a little more formal.
A chunky beaded necklace and statement cocktail ring in the same shade of yellow as the bolero jacket tie this outfit together.
Pretty pastel wedge shoes...so very versatile this season! The coral red of my toe nails was inspired by the red blooms on my dress.
This outfit is fresh and ready for Spring...someone pass me the champagne.
Now to change it up a bit! You may have seen this cardigan before when I wore it for the celebrity copycat challenge. I like to mix and match my clothing, and always consider what other items I can wear it with before I make a purchase.
The teal of this cardigan matches beautifully with my teal wedges, and further highlights the teal detail on the dress.
The soft cardigan makes this a more casual look...and now the yellow accessories pop even more!
The only item I changed here was the cardigan, and it gives me a totally different look. Which look do you prefer?
