Andrew and I met in 1994 while working together. Back in the day, our place of work was very sociable...in fact, quite a number of coworkers met and married. lol. It took two years for us to both work up the courage to profess that we liked each other...courage in liquid form at my housewarming party. hehe. From that day onwards, we've been together. We never really went on "dates" as such. We'd been friends for so long, that we already knew about each other...we just went straight onto the "being in love" phase. I still remember how I felt that first week. You couldn't get the smile off my face. We'd meet for lunch in the Royal Botanical Gardens each day, and I'd be feeling so sick with excitement, I could only eat half a sandwich! I would have married Andrew straight away if he asked me...I just knew this is the man I want to spend the rest of my life with.
Fast forward five years, and we were married. Fast forward another ten years and we've been through so much together! We've built a house, been blessed with two beautiful and healthy children, survived two redundancies and lots of filler in between. As I said back in my wedding story post, we had always planned for a marriage, not a wedding, and despite what we've faced, we've stuck together. We're a team and we're in it for the long haul. I can't wait to be that old couple celebrating their golden anniversary!
Andrew is my rock, my everything. He works so hard for us, and gives me so much love. I am who I am today because of him. He gives me the freedom to pursue my dreams, and supports me no matter how hair-brained they might be. I could quite possibly be the luckiest girl on the face of the Earth.
