So, what is it?
Every Thursday, Jac will open up a blog hop as a way for bloggers to share their weightloss journeys, and to be inspired by others. As I said, a problem shared is a problem halved. If you talk about your problems, it will make you feel better. We're all in this together...why should you feel alone?
As regular readers will know, I have a major weight issue. Five years ago, I lost an impressive 40kg. Shortly after, I had my gall bladder removed and fell into a deep depression (not related). As a result, I stacked on 50kg...tipping the scales at 144.5kg at my heaviest.
For the last 12-15 weeks, I have been making minor life changes and following the Michelle Bridges 12 week body transformation program. My current weight is 131.2kg (yes, I've put on weight since last week). I'm really happy that my weight has dropped, but I still have a long way to go.
What's the point of sharing my story?
I want other morbidly obese women to know that they can do it too. You don't have to suffer in silence. You don't need to be embarrassed. It's just a number, and you are more than that...and you are capable of more than you think.
There are so many things I have put off because I thought I was too heavy, or too fat...but you just have to try! Today I conquered two of my greatest (if somewhat irrational) fears...heights, and walking up/down spiral staircases. Today I walked along the Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk...right out to the edges of each of the cantilevers, and to the very top of the tower...up 106 stairs and back down again...and you know what? I survived, and the view was AMAZING!
You really can do anything you put your mind to. Come and share your journey, and lift that weightloss burden from your shoulders.
